Cats and children
/We went to visit family at the weekend and watching my daughter interacting with Alfie (one of our trusted feline testers) made me think about how far we’ve come since first introducing our cats to children.
It’s now nearly eight years on since our two cats, who up until this point had led very quiet and contented lives, suddenly found the familiar home they were used to change quite dramatically with the introduction of a small, yet incredibly noisy and disruptive human being.
There have been ups and downs, but I think we’ve now reached a point where both children understand and respect cats. It was surprising how quickly the cats adjusted to the new little people in the house and I have to admit it’s been an interesting journey for me!
Bringing a new baby into the household, will without doubt impact on your cat, but how much will depend on your cat’s personality and the preparation you put in beforehand to get your cat ready for the arrival of your new bundle of joy.
